Ocean Kiss Autumn Ear Warmer
It’s getting colder here in the UK with the autumn nip in the air! Not yet cold enough for a hat, but in the early mornings you need an ear warmer to keep you snug.
Looking for a quick project for a gift; or to use up some leftover yarn? You can whip up this gorgeous Ocean Kiss Ear Warmer in less than an hour, and it takes less than 50g of yarn.
If you are intending to make my Ocean Kiss Autumn Ruana why not use the leftover yarn to make this matching Ear Warmer, it needs less than 50g.
Continuing with my Ocean Kiss stitch combination; the Ear Warmer also uses Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable in the colour Pearly.
But I have made a few more of these in Lion Brand Heartland, and King Cole Drifter Chunky, so any Worsted, Chunky weight yarn you have will be fine.

CH1 – Does not count as a stitch
CH4 – Counts as the first TRC stitch on “X” rows, meaning the very first space to place a stitch, is already “used”. And also counts as the first DC/CH1 on DC Cluster rows.
Multiple 3+2+1 for the foundation chain.
ROW 1:- CH63, SC in 2nd CH from hook, SC in each CH to end of row. (62 SC), turn
ROW 2:- CH1, HDC in each SC, repeat across, (62 HDC), turn
ROW 3:- CH1, HDC in each HDC, repeat across, (62 HDC), turn
ROW 4:- CH1, SC in each HDC, repeat across, (62 SC), turn
ROW 5:- CH4 (counts as a TRC), TRX across, ending with a TRC in final SC (20 TRX, 2 TRC), turn
ROW 6:– CH4, *(DC Cluster (space in top half of first “X”), CH2), repeat a further 18 times, final “X” DC Cluster, CH1, DC in 4th CH, turn (20 DC Cluster, 2 DC)

Check your count here, the easiest place to miss a SC is either the first 2, (the SC in the first cluster is your 3rd SC made) or the last 2 SC’s (made using the starting CH4 of the previous row).

Cut your yarn, leaving a tail to weave in. Pull yarn through final loop on hook and then weave in the end to hide. Seam together the short ends using your preferred method.
I still make finished items for Xmas Fairs; and I decided to make up some of my Ocean Kiss Autumn Ear Warmers using a lovely sparkly yarn.
Don’t they look pretty?
The yarn I used is Caron Simply Soft Party yarn, it’s an Aran weight and 99% acrylic, with 1% metallized polyester.
Check your gauge, I used a 6mm hook, and kept to the same number of stitches I used for the Unforgettable which is a slightly thinner yran than the Caron.
