Ocean Kiss Summer Shawl

Did you love the stitch pattern of the Ocean Kiss Summer Poncho but prefer a shawl? I listened! It wasn’t easy, but I can finally now show you the 4th pattern in my Ocean Kiss Summer Collection, the Ocean Kiss Summer Shawl!

This is the first time I have designed a triangular shawl, the Ocean Kiss Summer Shawl starts at the top, working down increasing every row with an extra stitch on each end, and two more in the centre space. As the stitch pattern works on a multiple of 3 and I am increasing by 4, some rows work out perfectly, but a few needed a slight tweak.

I crocheted two samples up quite quickly, but when I came to write up the pattern I found myself checking and rechecking the stitch counts. Anyway,the good news is that I have given you the row stitch counts  so you can work your way through easily checking your stitches.

 

I used 1 whole ball of Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball, if you have read my previous posts you know how much I love this yarn for it’s lightness, softness, and just stunning colour mixes.  The 150 g ball just goes on and on and it’s brilliant to be able to get a whole shawl from one ball.

I just had enough, but I kept quite a loose tension, if you found yourself running out, you could alter the last row which is a cluster, and finish on a double crochet instead.

My finished shawl size is 54″ by 31″.
